Our Story

The Beach Life That Changed Everything

It all started with a morning walk along the Strand in Manhattan Beach. My two little ones were toddling beside me, the Pacific breeze carrying the salt air, and I found myself thinking about the world they would inherit.

Growing up and raising my family in Manhattan Beach has been a gift. The endless summers, the community volleyball games, the kids building sandcastles at sunset—it's a lifestyle that keeps you grounded and connected to nature. But it also opened my eyes to the environmental challenges we face.

I watched my children outgrow clothes faster than I could keep up. Perfectly good outfits worn just a handful of times before they no longer fit. Meanwhile, I'd see news about textile waste, about clothes ending up in landfills, about the true cost of fast fashion on our planet—the same planet my kids play on every day.

A Mother's Mission

As a mom, I've always believed in hand-me-downs. There's something beautiful about clothes that carry stories, that have been loved before. Why should that tradition stop within our own families? What if we could extend that circle of care to our whole community?

That's how Stitch Collective was born. Right here in Manhattan Beach, inspired by the sustainable mindset that comes naturally when you live so close to the ocean.

Why Second-Hand Matters

Every piece of clothing we refresh and resell is one less item in a landfill. Every purchase you make is a vote for a more sustainable future. It's not about being perfect—it's about making better choices, one outfit at a time.

When my kids ask why we buy pre-loved clothes, I tell them the truth: because we love our beach, we love our ocean, and we want to protect them. They get it. Kids understand sustainability better than we give them credit for.
